Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 July 2026
1. Who we are
Client Score Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "Client Score") operates a platform that allows trade professionals ("Trade Members") to record and access structured feedback about customers they have worked with. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Currently operating as: Client Score Pty Ltd (company registration pending - ACN to be added once incorporated). Contact: contact@clientscore.com.au.
2. What personal information we collect
About Trade Members (the people who sign up to our platform):
- Name, business name, contact details, login credentials
- Business/licensing details relevant to verifying trade membership
About customers (people a Trade Member has worked with, provided to us by the Trade Member - customers do not sign up to Client Score directly):
- Name, email address, and/or mobile number
- Ratings on: payment timeliness, communication, site readiness, scope change, and whether the Trade Member would work with them again (each 1-5, no free text)
Customer identifiers are stored in hashed form, but remain searchable by a Trade Member who already knows the customer's full name, email, or mobile number. This means the information is still personal information under the Privacy Act - hashing reduces exposure risk but does not make the data anonymous.
3. How we collect it
- Directly from Trade Members when they register and use the platform.
- From Trade Members when they submit a rating after completing (or attempting) a job.
- We do not collect information directly from customers. Customers are told about this collection by the Trade Member they engage, via a notice the Trade Member is contractually required to provide before the job starts (see our Terms of Service).
4. How we use it
- To operate the rating system - allowing verified Trade Members to search and view aggregated customer ratings.
- To verify Trade Member accounts and manage the platform.
- To respond to customer requests to access or correct information held about them.
- To investigate disputes about a specific rating.
- In de-identified, aggregate form, to understand and improve the platform.
We do not use customer ratings for any purpose beyond helping Trade Members assess suitability for future work - this is the sole stated purpose of collection.
5. Who we share it with
- Other verified Trade Members, who can search customer ratings by name, email, or mobile number. This is not public - only verified Trade Members can access it.
- Service providers who help us run the platform (e.g. hosting) - under obligations to protect the information and use it only for the purpose we specify.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for marketing purposes.
6. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including for analytics purposes, to help us understand how visitors use the site - for example, which pages are viewed and general usage patterns. This information is used in aggregate and is not linked to the Trade Member or customer rating data described elsewhere in this policy.
You can control or disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some website functionality.
7. Data security
- Customer identifiers are hashed.
8. Access and correction
- Customers: you can request a copy of the ratings held about you, or dispute a rating you believe is inaccurate, via our Client Disputes page. We will investigate and respond within one week of receiving your request.
- Trade Members: you can access and update your account details at any time via your account settings, or by contacting us.
9. Data retention
We retain personal information - including ratings and any supporting evidence - for five years from the date of submission, after which it is securely deleted, unless we are required to retain it for longer to comply with the law or to resolve an active dispute.
10. Complaints
If you believe we've mishandled your personal information, contact us first at contact@clientscore.com.au and we'll investigate. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available, with the "last updated" date shown above.
