Trade FAQs
Getting started
Is it free to join Client Score?
Yes. Registering your trade is completely free. Add your business details and we'll verify everything before your account is created, usually within a business day.
How long does verification take?
Most accounts are verified and approved within a business day. Once you're approved, you can start searching clients and adding your own scores straight away.
Searching clients
What can I search by?
You can look up any client by name, phone number, or email address to see their reputation score before you commit to a job.
Are client details kept private?
Yes. Client names are shown as an initial and surname only, and phone numbers and email addresses are always partially masked, even if you already know the full details.
Scoring
Can I edit or delete a score I added?
Yes, from your Edit Score page you can update or remove any score you've personally added at any time.
What do the score categories mean?
Each score covers a few short categories, like paying on time, communication, and whether you'd work with them again, so the overall rating reflects more than just a single number.
Client FAQs
How it works
What is Client Score and why am I listed on it?
Client Score is a platform trades use to record structured feedback after a job, covering things like payment timeliness and communication. You're not signed up to anything, you're only listed if a trade you've worked with submits a rating.
How was I told this could happen?
Before rating you, a trade is required to disclose Client Score in the quote, job acceptance, or engagement document they gave you, as part of the terms they agreed to when they joined. If you don't recall seeing that disclosure, you can raise it through a dispute.
Can anyone see my information?
No. Only verified trade members can search Client Score, and even then you're shown as an initial and surname, with your phone and email always partially masked.
Your score
What does my score actually cover?
A few short categories, like paying on time, communication, site readiness, and whether the trade would work with you again, rather than a single number.
Could my score affect future work?
It may factor into a trade's decision when quoting or accepting a job, which is why accuracy matters. If you think a rating is wrong or unfair, you can dispute it below.
Your profile
Do I need to do anything to be listed?
No, listing happens automatically the first time a trade you've worked with submits a rating.
What's the benefit of claiming my profile?
Once you verify your email or mobile, you become a Verified Client and can manage your profile and see feedback and scores as they're added, instead of requesting a one-off copy each time. We're also planning a member directory that would let Verified Clients engage directly with trades, and a strong rating history may help trades prioritise your calls and jobs.
Is claiming my profile free?
Yes, there's no cost.
What if I have a dispute about my score?
If a trade has recorded a rating about you, you can claim your profile by verifying your email or mobile number. Once verified, you're a Verified Client and can manage your profile and see feedback and trade score submissions as they come in. Prefer not to claim one? You can still request a copy of what's recorded, or lodge a dispute if you believe a rating is inaccurate or unfair, without creating anything. Find out how on our Client Disputes page. We aim to respond to any request or dispute within one week.
